The latest round of Fortnite challenges is here, and that means there’s another loading screen to decipher.

This time around, the loading screen gives us a glimpse of the Banana King. In the background of screen, you can see this week’s banner just under one of the torches that sit on the side of the mountain.

The torch is located on the side of the volcano, and it overlooks Sunny Steps. The torch is sitting on a pedestal, which will have the banner nailed to its side.

Once you arrive, you can pick up the banner and complete the challenge. Just like all of Fortnite’s weekly loading screen secrets, the banner won’t be available until you’ve completed all of this week’s challenges.

Epic Games powers a lot of gaming experiences across the industry via the Unreal Engine platform and the company is introducing something new to help developers with their titles-in-progress. Epic Online Services is a free set of tools to help create robust multiplayer experiences and the company is unleashing them to developers while GDC 2019 charges forward.

“Building a game is only the beginning for developers,” said Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney. “We know from experience that successfully managing and scaling your game requires a robust infrastructure, with numerous back-end services. With Fortnite we are now operating these services at an enormous scale, and we are glad to start opening them up to the game development community at large in order to make it easier for teams of all sizes to succeed.”


Epic Online Services were initially created to power the hit game Fortnite v bucks generator, but can integrate with any engine, platform, and store. Epic Games originally shared the project in December when detailing the 2019 cross-platform online services roadmap and the service is now officially available for developers. Not only will the Epic Online Services offer developers the things need to create a unified social experience across platforms, but devs will also be able to access game analytics so they can monitor the performance of the game. Here’s a look at what’s offered in this suite:

  • Game analytics (available now): Store telemetry about your players and their gameplay to understand and boost retention and engagement. Epic’s dashboards help you make data-driven decisions in real time.
  • Ticketing system (available now): Connect directly with players through integrated customer support tools that tie tickets to a player’s profile. Provide high-quality, personalized support by accessing player data from a single dashboard.
  • Player data storage (targeting May 2019): Store and enumerate arbitrary game data on behalf of authorized players.
  • Player reports (targeting May 2019): Allow players to report others for positive or negative in-game behavior. Gain valuable feedback directly from the community.
  • Achievements, leaderboards & stats (targeting September 2019): Keep track of individual and global player statistics, award in-game achievements, and rank players on leaderboards.
  • Communications (targeting October 2019): Enable in-game communication between players across any platform.
  • Overlay (targeting October 2019): Provide a unified overlay for friends and other online services that are available to players across different games and engines.
  • Parties (targeting October 2019): Enable players to form groups and play together.
  • Matchmaking (targeting November 2019): Set up game matches for individual players or predetermined groups.
  • Player identity (targeting December 2019): Enable players to log in and connect with others across different platforms.
  • Player inventory (targeting December 2019): Manage player inventories, including purchases across different game stores.

This isn’t the first time that a helicopter has been seen in Fortnite

ortnite: Battle Royale fans are used to keeping track of various objects around the map, such as the large purple cube and earthquakes. But now, there’s something new for players to keep their eyes on—a helicopter.

A mysterious helicopter has seemingly been slowly traveling around the map. It now sits on top of a mountain near the race track in the desert biome—but it has also apparently been spotted north of Sunny Steps on top of a mountain, surrounded by a few volcano vents.


The military helicopter really sticks out in the current pirate-themed season of Fortnite and could potentially hint toward a few things coming to the game in the future— v buck generator or nothing at all.

Let’s face it, the helicopter sightings could amount to nothing more than Epic Games having a bit of fun. But some fans on social media still feel like this is a sign of either next season’s content or the return of flying vehicles in a future season update.

This isn’t the first time that a helicopter has been seen in Fortnite, however. A similar helicopter made an appearance in season four on the film set at Moisty Mire.


Battle Royale has lots of weapons. New players may take a long time to get to know them all

Fortnite, just like in several game with guns, players generally choose their go-to weapons after some time in a way that fits their gameplan the best. Some like to hold the trigger and aim precisely with an assault rifle to melt their opponents with several shots, and some prefer a good, powerful sniper rifle shot from afar that will eliminate an opponent in a single perfectly-aimed shot.

Fortnite has all of this. How fast your weapon shoots is important, and generally this is a stat that’s also tied to the weapons damage, number of shots per clip, reload time, and sometimes even damage to structures.

These stats are all related to one another. A weapon that has a high fire rate will probably deal less damage per shot, and a weapon that kills in a single shot is likely to have a single bullet in its clip with a long reload time.

Taking that into consideration when defining your loadout for Fortnite matches is important. That’s why we built a table with detailed stats for all Fortnite weapons available in  v buck generator default playlists. Vaulted weapons aren’t listed.

In the images below, you’ll find the damage every weapon deals per shot, how many bullets each of them fire per second, how many bullets are there per magazine, how many seconds they take to reload, and how much damage they deal to structures.

Fortnite is now teasing the arrival of the “Baller

a new hamster ball-shaped vehicle with some sort of suction cup on the end that I assume can whip you around the map like Hammond from Overwatch. But it’s no surprise to eagle-eyed fans who caught the fact that the Baller was present in the day one season 8 loading screen for the game.

As you can see, if you zoom into a certain part of the screen, you can see the Baller lurking in the background. And it’s not the only thing. So far, it seems like at least four out of the ten weeks of new items and additions to the game are already on this page.

Besides the Baller, which may be the most well-hidden, we have the treasure map which has already arrived in Fortnite. Someone holding a simple scroll did not seem like a new item up front, but yes, treasure maps did actually make their way into the game as v buck generator a new mechanic where you can follow them to find a treasure trove of buried legendary loot nearby.

That leaves weapons, the first of which is pretty clear. Fortnite is getting a compound bow, as in the one held by the Ember skin in the loading screen here. Fortnite has had crossbows in the past, but never an actual bow, and from Tomb Raider to Far Cry to now even Destiny, bows are becoming a video game staple and it’s clear Fortnite doesn’t want to be left out of the party. The end of the arrow looks unusual, like some sort of cartridge instead of an arrowhead, so I wonder if it could be an explosive bow instead.

The next weapon is the pirate-era pistol being held by Blackheart. Some people are saying that this is the return of the old-school Revolver, which did look somewhat like this back when Fortnite wasn’t modeling its guns after real-life weapons most of the time, but my guess is that it’s something different. Something closer range that the old Revolver, though that barrel is narrow enough not to be a handheld shotgun (Mozambique here!).

Fortnite: Battle Royale is in its second week of season 8 challenges, and this set has staged quests we’ve seen before, but also some that will send you to some of the newer v buck generator locations on the island.

Apart from the regular challenges, there’s another thing to keep an eye out for since the latest update: treasure maps. You’ll find these treasure maps hidden in chests and in ground loot all around the island. When you get one, follow it to where X marks the spot, then dig down with your pick-ax to collect a buried treasure that will include at least one legendary item. Hold on a second though, if the theme is pirates this season, shouldn’t we be calling it booty? Yes, obviously we should, so go get that booty!

  • Stage 1: Land at The Block

How to do stage 1: Land at The Block

This challenge has five stages and you can only get credit for one per match, so your best bet here is to concentrate on it for five straight games while you complete other challenges. After landing at The Block, the next stages are (in order): Dusty Divot, Polar Peak, Snobby Shores and Paradise Palms. Here’s where they are on the map to make

How to deal damage to descending supply drops

For this challenge you’re going to want to do a large group mode like Rumble because supply drops come more frequently especially in the second half of a match. Large group modes will also be safer because half the people on the island are on your team. That way, taking pot shots at descending balloons won’t make you as much of a target.

How to get eliminations in Salty Springs or Haunted Hills

This is a challenge you’re going to want to attack early in the week because that’s when most people will be landing at these locations. You have a couple of options for strategy here: You can simply land, grab guns and start shooting at either location or — for a more strategic approach — you might gear up nearby then quickly enter the location armed and ready. For this second option, try looting the pair of houses just south of Haunted Hills or the houses just northeast of Salty Springs if you’re going to that location.

How to do stage 1: Gain health from apples

This is a little more challenging than it looks because you have to have been hurt in order to heal with apples. There are a lot of places around the map to find apples (and you’ll need 25 points of healing), but my favorite locations are probably near Lonely Lodge, Retail Row or on the hill southwest of Salty Springs. Stage 2 of the challenge requires you to use campfires to heal 50 points and that includes both the ones you carry with you as well as the ones that sit around them map. For stage 3, you’ll need to use a medkit and heal at least 75 points to complete the challenge.

Saf and Zayt secured first place at the ESL Katowice Royale.

The tournament took place over three days, kicking off with a solos tournament on Friday, March 1 before transitioning into a Duos competition for March 2 and 3.

While Ghost Gaming’s Rocco ‘Saf’ Morales and NRG star Williams ‘Zayt’ Aubin took home the grand prize of $80,000, Kolcheff and his teammate Aydan ‘Ghost Aydan’ Conrad finished in 46th place, with NICKMERCS posting on Twitter after the event to explain how many issues players were faced with throughout the tournament.

Heading into the final game of the ESL Katowice Royale, Kolcheff’s Fortnite client crashed completely, with the tournament admins choosing not to remake the lobby, instead allowing play to continue.

FaZe Clan’s Dennis ‘Cloak’ Lepore then revealed that a further six to eight players left the game when they realized that NICKMERCS was having issues, with ESL still choosing not to restart the game. Kolcheff appeared to be unhappy with this decision, free v bucks ps4 posting a GIF of an angry cartoon character bursting into flames in response to Cloak’s tweet.

Kolcheff went on to address other problems he encountered at the tournament, including bugs with the game’s Quadcrasher, intense lag that meant players were unable to build or use their glider, and “headsets that destroyed your ears via static shock.”

“This event wasn’t the greatest experience,” concluded NICKMERCS. “GGs, excited to get back home.”

Kolcheff and other Fortnite pros suffered from a number of issues on Saturday, March 2 too, with the 100 Thieves star complaining that he had no audio throughout the first game of the Duos tournament, free v bucks no verification while FaZe Clan’s Nate Hill found himself eliminated after falling foul of the Quadcrasher glitch.

With so many issues plaguing the ESL Katowice Royale, it will be interesting to see how Epic Games responds to these problems, as the developers continue to push competitive Fortnite ahead of the 2019 World Cup later this year.

Fortnite’s season 8 battle pass has 10 weeks of challenges and ends on May 8.

Fortnite’s season 8 battle pass has skins that fit right into this season’s pirates-and-ruins theme, along with random ones like the dragon and banana man.

Among the standouts is Blackheart, which fits the pirate theme. Also in the pass are skins like Sidewinder, an adventurer, and Master Key, which may not fit the theme, but are still great additions.

Almost every skin in this season’s battle pass will have unlockable style options. While some of these are minor, the Hybrid skin evolves into a lizard. Players will have to complete various objectives to unlock the various alternate styles.

Another new feature is demonstrated via the Peely skin — which in this case is an actual living, breathing(?), banana, not a man in a banana costume free v bucks generator. The Peely skin ripens over the course of a game and progressively changes colors. Fortnite has experimented with changing skins before, but they haven’t come in the battle pass previously.

Like previous seasons, season 8’s battle pass will be 950 V-Bucks (or about $9.50). The battle pass will come with 100 tiers of unlockable items, as well as four extra challenges a week. There will also be a pack that allows players to buy both the battle pass and the first 25 tiers of unlocks for 2,800 V-Bucks. Players who completed the Overtime Challenges from season 7 will get the battle pass for free, and can buy the 25 tier upgrade for a reduced cost.

For the players who don’t want to spend money, Epic offers several battle pass rewards for free. The free tier will include a few unlocks, as well as three challenges each week. Players who start with the free battle pass and decide to upgrade part way through the season, will have their progress carried over to the paid version of the pass.

When is the Fortnite Season 8 release date?

Developer Epic Games has confirmed the next season of the Battle Royale phenomenon is arriving on schedule, tweeting a blood-red teaser image depicting a pirate’s hook.

The next season of Fortnite will be maritime-themed, it seems, with the current line of thinking predicting that the new season will bring a thaw to the snow and ice that has covered the map across Season 7. It looks like we will also see the appearance of some mean looking snakes, if the second teaser is anything to go by, pointing to the mysterious eggs in the basement of Polar Peak’s castle.

Fortnite’s success shows no signs of abating. Season 7 was its biggest ever, bringing significant changes to the map and a new mode in the form of Fortnite Creative.

Towards the end of last year Epic Games said that Fortnite had topped 200 million registered players. A report said the free-to-play game made $2.4bn from microtransactions and battle passes across 2018; the most annual revenue of any game in history. And on 2 February, the game had its biggest day ever with 10.7m players online. Notably helped by the live in-game concert by DJ Marshmello.

That it continues to attract such numbers worldwide means that anticipation for Season 8 is about to reach fever-pitch. But despite its continued extraordinary success, the latest season could prove to be one of free v bucks generator‘s most important. The fictional DJ has a name: Marshmello. No one truly knows his identity, thanks to his white bucket helmet with an unambiguous painted smile and crisscross eyes — although increasingly voluminous online scuttlebutt suggests the man under the plastic cranium is Chris Comstock, a 26-year-old producer hailing from Philadelphia.

The point, though, is that Marshmello could be anyone. He’s an entirely fictional creation, a blank canvas onto which young music fans can paint whichever personality they wish him to be. This makes ‘mello the perfect foil for attention-hungry pop stars wishing to feature on his hit singles (a list that so far includes Khalid, Selena Gomez, Bastille and Anne Marie). And it’s also what made him such a powerful implant into the online video-game phenomenon Fortnite, where he played two virtual “live” sets, each 12 hours apart, on that fateful day in February.

The numbers attached to the DJ’s in-game appearance are staggering. Epic Games, makers of Fortnite, have now confirmed that the event attracted a record peak concurrent user count (ie. the number of people all playing/watching at one time) of 10.7 million. The total number of in-game attendees across the whole day remains unconfirmed, but well-placed industry sources tell Rolling Stone that it was “significantly bigger” than 10 million.

To put that into perspective: 10.7 million people is bigger than the total population of New York City — all watching a concert simultaneously. Other solid industry sources we’ve spoken to expect that around 80 percent of those watching did not consider themselves fans of the artist, or even know who he was, before the concert.

hel Jarre’s 1997 appearance at the State University of Moscow, which celebrated the city’s 850th anniversary. That free show drew an estimated 3.5 million attendees — approximately one-third the size of the audience who “showed up” to dance along to Marshmello’s performance in free v bucks generator.

Unsurprisingly, ‘mello’s subsequent social media numbers reflect a masterstroke in global music marketing. Between February 1st and 7th, Marshmello’s weekly YouTube views grew by more than 100 million; his Instagram follower count grew by a million within four days. Los Angeles-based Moe Shalizi is Marshmello’s manager and, in characterization terms, at least, his co-creator. “We were really nervous when the show happened, ’cause we were just praying it would go successfully, especially with the voice [of Marshmello] talking into the game for everybody to hear,” Shalizi says. “But in the end, it was amazing. [Mello] was in this room, geared up head-to-toe with a body-motion suit and everything, with maybe 30 or 40 people [surrounding him as technical support staff]. It was a crazy thing to be a part of.”

Shalizi, who recently left artist management group Red Light to go independent with the Shalizi Group, credits Epic Games for being “completely ahead of the curve.” Epic and Team Marshmello worked on developing the concert for six months, he says. “I think what Epic are doing is going to be revolutionary for music,” adds Shalizi, perhaps suggesting that we won’t have heard the last of on-the-rise talents appearing in Fortnite.

Last November, Fortnite’s total registered player count topped 200 million people, up from 125 million in June. Says Shalizi, “People have done [comparable in-game music ‘moments’] before, but no one’s ever done it on that kind of a scale, on that level, with the interaction that we saw from the fans.”

Someone who knows all about previous such in-game experiments is Sammy Andrews, the founder of London-based music marketing agency Deviate Digital. While an employee with Simon Fuller’s 19 Entertainment in the mid-noughties, Andrews experimented with early avatar-based concerts in the then-trendy “virtual world” title Second Life — a few years before Duran Duran famously launched their own branded Second Life ‘universe’ in the summer of 2011.

Says Andrews, “The idea of an in-game concert is nothing new. We and others heavily explored it years ago, but there simply wasn’t a way of reaching a meaningful mass of people, plus the tech wasn’t there to meet the ambition we had.”

With the Marshmello concert, Fortnite players had to halt their usual in-game activities (i.e., shooting one another) to attend. In order to watch the DJ’s antics, they had to travel to an in-game location, Pleasant Park, where virtual trucks had been spotted “unloading” a digital stage in the days preceding the show.
